The Georgia Smart Communities Challenge (“Georgia Smart”) fosters awareness and adoption of advanced technologies and data in the public sector by supporting pilot projects with local governments across the state of Georgia. Georgia Smart extends existing smart city development by bridging the gap between cities and other local governments and encouraging a market pathway for industry partners into new domains. Partners in Georgia Smart include the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG), Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), Georgia Centers of Innovation, Metro Atlanta Chamber, and Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). More details on the challenge are coming soon!

Attendees shared experiences and identified challenges relevant to their communities. Local government attendees were spread across 20-percent of Georgia counties and included mayors, city and county managers, council people, and specialists in planning, information technology, and community development.
