We cordially invite your participation in this dynamic event, which will combine carefully selected general content sessions with multiple parallel breakouts and working groups. Key themes include a common “architecture” for smart utilities, public-private partnerships, and linking regional and global smart cities efforts. Be prepared to work hard – and contribute to outcomes that can play a role in shaping both the Atlanta region and cities everywhere. We anticipate approximately 150 attendees, including SuperCluster representatives and key regional stakeholders from local government, businesses, academia, and non-profits.

The Smart Cities Council works to help cities enhance livability, workability, and sustainability. Georgia Tech is recognized as one of the world's leading universities.
Atlanta, Georgia looks forward to hosting the Global City Teams Challenge + Atlanta Region Smart Energy, Water, and Waste SuperCluster. This event will explore how smart technologies can accelerate sustainable and resilient energy, water, and materials systems in the Atlanta region and in cities around the world. It will present a powerful opportunity for the Atlanta region to ground truth emerging frameworks – and for the Global City Teams Challenge work to benefit from a showcase of Atlanta activities.
The event has two key objectives:
The GCTC Energy, Water, and Waste SuperCluster will draft a high-level blueprint of replicable, scalable, and sustainable energy, water, and waste management utilities operating within smart cities. The goal is for this blueprint to be utilized by cities around the world as a way to jumpstart their efforts.
The City of Atlanta and other local governments will create a high-level roadmap for smart energy, water, and waste management including interactions with related smart city responsibility areas. This will include key goals, strategies, and leadership commitments.
